I feel, as Shell would say, poopoo today. My head is in a fog, and it seems like everything is moving by so quickly around me. It’s only 10am and I can barely remember my drive here to work. This fasting thing isn’t helping me much either.

Why the fast? Well, in case you didn’t know, today is Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the Lenten Fast for Catholics. Luckily, I am allowed one regular-sized meal, but it has to be a meatless one. Though fish is allowed. I’ve also giving up a few other things for Lent, coffee and swearing being among some of them. The lack of caffeine is just compounding the mental pea soup I find myself in.

I’m having problems concentrating, which isn’t something completely out of the norm for me. But I just generally feel sluggish. I really should just go home and rest, but I have a meeting this afternoon and I have work that needs to be done. It’s weird though. I think I have some sort of head cold, except that I’m not sneezing, not experiencing a runny nose, or any other symptoms normally present in colds. I do have some chest congestion, lots of phlegm and an occassional cough. I hope I don’t run into Lori C. today or she’ll give me hell about being here while I am not feeling well.

I hope this goes away soon, or I will not be able to drive myself down to LA.
