July 2002

Day 1
Fr. Mike: Are you married?
Me: Nope.
Fr. Mike: Do you want to be a priest?
Me: Never thought about it.

Day 7
Fr. Mike: Any more thought about entering the priesthood?
Me: Nope.
Fr. Mike: It’s a great job and has great perks.
Me: I’ll think about it.

Day 14
Nancy: You should enter the seminary.
Me: I should?
Nancy: Yeah, I think you’d be great at it.
Me: Uhh, ok.

Day 21
Fr. Mike: Hey Jeff.
Me: Nope, haven’t thought any more about it.
Fr. Mike: Just thought I’d ask.

Day 28
Nancy: Remember Chris?
Erica: Yeah!
Renee: I remember all the girls were hot for him.
Nancy: Well, he took some time off from seminary.
Rick: There you go, Jeff. Enter the seminary, get a dog and all the women will be after you.

1. How long have you had a weblog? October, 2000. I think.

2. What was your first post about? The NY Mets. I think I remember writing about Fonzie for president.

3. How many changes (name, location, etc.) of your weblog have there been, if more than one? Started off on blog spot as “the deep dark insanity that is me”. Then it moved to my domain, where it’s stayed ever since. I have gone from using blogger to greymatter and now to moveable type.

4. What CMS (content management system) do you use? Do you like it or do you want to try something else? Moveable Type. I love it. Much better than anything else I’ve used.

5. Do you read people who have both a journal and a weblog? Or do you prefer to read people who have all of their writing in one central place? I like both, even if I have a tendency to mix my posts. I should probably start using my categories for something.

An unidentified 12-year-old died Friday after being infected with an amoeba while swimming in a Florida lake.

You: So are you originally from this area?
Me: No, I’m orignally from New York.
You: You don’t sound like it.
Me: Yeah, I get that a lot.

Just a quickie post for tonight…more substantial stuff over the new three days…

I have been working on a post for a while about love. It’s pretty long and extensive and honestly, I don’t know if I can ever finish it. But I will say this.

There have been only four people outside my family who I have ever said, “I love you” to. I don’t say it a lot because I believe that it has special meaning. But when I do say it, I really do mean it. And I will always mean it.

Even though I’ve lost touch with some of those people, I still mean every single word of that statement. I will always love those people. That’s just who I am.
