ugh, another night of insomnia.
man, i hate not being able to sleep. lately i’ve been doing that thing where i sleep for like 20 minutes before waking up feeling like i’ve taken a powernap. mj woke me up last nite with his whining. i couldn’t fall back asleep until after 1am. the heat had a lot to do with it, i think. now i feel sleepy, but that could have been the massive amounts of thai food i ate.
mmmm, thai…

the people at sbc are a bunch of idiots. stupid bastards disconnected my dsl early. called them last week specifically to change the date, but it seemed to have escaped the attention of the person on the phone.
so my online presence will now be even more spotty than it’s been. hopefully I’ll have this cleared up soon, but I’m in no rush, since I’ll be up in Seattle this weekend.
in other news, i can cross out one of the books on my list. finally finished The Order of the Phoenix. now to finish off Dante Club.

man, it’s hot out. very, very hot out. sunny blue skies, without a cloud in the sky. so how did I spend the afternoon? I was out at a park, standing at the shortstop position playing softball with my church league.
let me describe our team. firstly, I wouldn’t use the term team to describe us. we’re more of a bunch of people who get together on sundays to attempt to play softball. to say we’re sad is being overly nice about it. we hold our own, and after today, I think we’re still in firm hold of 4th place (out of 8).
what happened today? we got off to a great start, scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to stake a quick 6-1 lead. through some ugly looking defense in the outfield, we found ourselves down 18-9 with our last at-bat. somehow, somehow through some patient hitting (along with a tired pitcher) we pulled it out and won the game 19-18. oh how sweet it is.
the only bad thing ’bout the whole game is that I felt bad for the opposing pitcher. she looked very disheartened, but I’m sure that will pass.

coming home from ducky’s place last nite something strange happened. as I was turning onto my street, i noticed some spots developing on my windshield. is it? is it?
it is!
yes folks, it was raining. i haven’t seen rain in probably 3-4 months. it just doesn’t rain in the summer out here in the bay area.
so what did I do?
yep, I stood outside by the pool at 1 in the morning just looking up at the sky. probably won’t see the rain again until sept/oct.
