i’ve been meaning to write here ever since the weekend, but life got in the way and i haven’t had the motivation to sit down and actually do it. but i’m at the airport now and it’s…oi, 5.10am (don’t ask what time i woke up) and my flight won’t board for another 30 minutes or so and this is a good opportunity to kill some time.
because i’m lazy, i’ll write what i said to carol which basically sums up what i’m thinking…
Subject: *yawn*
no human being should be up and about this early…
you know it’s a bad sign when you get to the airport and there’s NO ONE around…even at the car rental place
Starbucks isn’t even open! doh…
normally i wouldn’t care, but i have a fun 2 hour drive from BWI to Pax…thankfully i have a stash of CDs to keep me company in the car
hope things are going well back in sunny ca…hope ya aren’t missing me too much!

this trip has been good as i’ve been able to get a lot of work done and haven’t spent too much time in the lab waiting for the system to come up. i didn’t even get a chance to finish my crossword puzzles. the meetings went well and fred and i didn’t try to look too bored while the AF guys were reading through my tersely worded manual. and we got a lot of good comments & clarification regarding what we need to do for training along with free food. can’t top free yummy goodness.
the highlight of the trip so far is meeting up with Sarah down in beantown for some good pho. she was a trooper deciding to meet up with me despite the fact that she wasn’t feeling too hot and drugged up on benedryl.
we’ll ignore the fact that i got dreadfully lost on the way there (thank goodness for cell phones) as well as on my way out of boston (thank you sis & jillian). sarah rocks my socks off!
it’s interesting to watch people getting ready to board a Southwest flight. there’s maybe 20-30 people here and everyone is jockeying for position in the seating area where i am. could be a studying in human social behavior…or something. but it’s only a short hop from manchester to baltimore (total time is about 1.15…i’m guessing airtime is probably less than an hour). amazing what people will do for cheap seats (my refundable ticket was only $83).
well, some people arrived with starbucks in their hand, so i’m gonna go check it out. hopefully i’ll get to write something more tonight.
